Design of Yakuza 0

Design of Yakuza 0 -

(NO SPOILERS)
As far as fighting games go, this is the best I've played so far. Not only does the game provide with enough action but also has an excellent story.

Yakuza Zero is an action beat-em-up game that primarily focuses on story and action. With 17 chapters and 2 playable characters, the game has a lot of story to tell and takes over 20 hours to complete.

Yakuza features a sophisticated combat system that allows players to choose from four different fighting styles and a plethora of moves that can be unlocked using in-game currency.
Players are encouraged to use different styles and moves against different enemy types since some are resistant to some styles and moves.
The game also features a parry/counter system that can be used to evade or counter attack enemies but the game discourages players to just wait around for enemies to strike to counter them since parry does not negate all damage and can be riskier to use when swarmed by enemies.

Set in Japan, Yakuza 0 hooks you in right away. The world is excellent in terms of level design (space, environmental storytelling and the items available to use in fights), theme and aesthetics.
Aside from the main story and sub-stories the game also features carbaret management and real estate that spice up the gameplay and help you earn more money.

Conclusion -

Sega set the bar for fighting/action games with Yakuza 0 and I'm glad I got my hands on this masterpiece.
